Twister

Das Projekt Twister findet an beiden nGbK-Standorten statt und setzt sich zusammen aus einer Ausstellung und Panels in der Oranienstraße, einer Installation und Workshops in der station urbaner kulturen/nGbK Hellersdorf sowie einem Katalog. Im Sinne von sowohl politischen Wirbelstürmen als auch von der Absurdität nationalistischer Ansprüche auf Geografie und Natur erprobt Twister, wie diasporische Gemeinschaften aus verschiedenen Ländern interagieren und zusammenarbeiten können.

Lucien Kroll in Hellersdorf. Eine Baustelle

Die Ausstellung ist dem belgischen Architekten Lucien Kroll gewidmet, der am 13. März seinen 95. Geburtstag feiert. Neben historischem Bildmaterial und aktuellen Fotografien werden erstmalig aus dem Französischen übersetzte Texte in der begleitenden Publikation Lucien Kroll in Hellersdorf aufbereitet. Die Ausstellung wird zur konstruktiven Baustelle, so wie sich Kroll dies für das gesamte Quartier erhofft hatte.

DFG-Graduiertenkolleg „Kulturen der Kritik“ der Leuphana Universität Lüneburg zu Gast in der nGbK

Wenn das gewaltsame Verschwinden in Lateinamerika endemisch geworden ist – wie können dann künstlerische Antworten aussehen, die von den Orten des Verlustes ausgehen? Der Workshop „Absentees: Some Effects of Violence in Latin American Performance Art in the 21st Century“ konzentriert sich auf künstlerische und performative Strategien, die das gewaltsame Verschwinden von Menschen in Lateinamerika verhandeln. Der Abendvortrag „Women to Power: Art, Politics and Migration in Regina José Galindo and Tania Bruguera“ befasst sich mit den Ungleichheiten und Komplexitäten der Migration und beleuchtet die Rolle von Künstlerinnen in der lateinamerikanischen Performancekunst, wobei der Schwerpunkt auf der zentralamerikanischen Einwanderung in die USA und der Migration als Kultur liegt.

Twister

The Twister project takes place at both nGbK locations and consists of an exhibition and panel discussions at Oranienstraße as well as an installation and workshops at nGbK Hellersdorf, and a catalog. It explores both political whirlwinds and the absurdity of nationalistic claims to geography and nature. Finally, the project looks at how diasporic communities from different countries can interact and cooperate.

Lucien Kroll in Hellersdorf. Eine Baustelle

The exhibition is dedicated to the Belgian architect Lucien Kroll, who celebrates his 95th birthday on March 13. In addition to historical visual material and current photographs, the accompanying publication Lucien Kroll in Hellersdorf features texts translated from French for the first time. The exhibition becomes a constructive building site, just as Kroll had hoped for the entire neighborhood.

DFG Research Training Group “Cultures of Critique” at Leuphana Universität Lüneburg hosted by nGbK Berlin

If forced disappearance gained an endemic status in Latin America – how may artistic responses look like, coming from the very places of loss? The workshop "Absentees: Some Effects of Violence in Latin American Performance Art in the 21st Century" focuses on the different ways that violent disappearances relate to performance art in Latin America. The evening lecture “Women to Power: Art, Politics and Migration in Regina José Galindo and Tania Bruguera” addresses the disparities and complexities of migration, highlighting the role of female artists in Latin American performance art while focusing on Central American immigration to the US and migration as culture.
